Disney Trip ‘08: The Highlights (Food)

Restaurant Marrakesh Epcot (Morocco) - Two words: belly dancer. Oh, and the food was good too. It was nice to have something a little out of the ordinary (out of the ordinary for me, not for people from Morocco).

San Angel Inn Epcot (Mexico) - The food was very good and the atmosphere was great. I had the Filete Motuleno.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Hollywood Studios - Just awesome! Clips of cheesy old sci-fi movies are run on a screen in a drive-in movie setting, while you enjoy a burger, fries, and a cherry cola at a table that looks like a ‘57 Chevy. The food was good and the cherry cola heavenly, but in that environment they could’ve probably served McNasty’s and I would’ve enjoyed myself.

House of Blues Downtown Disney - My visits to HOBs in times past usually involved a burger and fries. This time around I had cajun-seasoned Mahi-Mahi, which was very tasty and worthy of mention in this, my post.

France Crêpe Kiosk Epcot (France) - Best crêpe ever. I understand this may change when I actually go to France. But in the meantime this strawberry-filled chocolate-drizzled delight will probably remain champion. Yes, it was good enough for me to warrant the use of an accent circonflexe. Fancy.

Outback Steakhouse Savannah, GA - Having been spoiled by pretentious cow from restaurants like Ruth’s Chris, Morton’s, The Capital Grille, Smith & Wollensky and Shula’s, it’s unusual that I’d find myself mentioning an Outback. But from start to finish, the Outback in downtown Savannah was on top of their game. Other Outback’ers should go to Savannah for training.
